Our baby room is uniquely designed to create a safe, calm stimulating environment for baby to build strong secure relationship with their key person. Our key person approach is a way to ensure that all children and families have one or more persons within the setting with whom they have a special, nurturing relationship. The presence of a key person helps your child to feel emotionally secure when away from home and provides a reassuring point of contact for both parents. Your key person will keep you informed throughout the day of care routines, activities and Assessments on your child’s Makaton, Baby massage.

At Ellie's Nurseries, we recognise that being two should be an exciting time of exploration, curiosity, and adventure. Across our early years settings, our environments for two-year-olds have been designed to support children to feel safe, loved and to thrive, in order that they can meet their potential: emotionally, intellectually, and physically. How we do this? Strong early years provision consists of positive interactions, enabling environments, high-quality resources and routines that support learning. Therefore, our Thriving Twos environment is carefully planned in a meaningful and purposeful way..
  • High Quality Interactions:
Our warm and receptive staff look expectantly at children as they engage in conversation with them. They welcome children's attempts to communicate, building wonderful friendship skills, emotional understanding and emotional expression.
  • Environments:
To influence children’s learning, environments must be accessible to all children and provide opportunities for them to test their ideas, building on what they can already do.
  • Resources:
We know that where children need space to be active, they also need cosy and calming spaces to be able to regulate their senses and build up their emotional and physical energy ready to engage with the environment again.
  • Routines:
Routines provide consistency and predictability, both of which support children to feel safe. When working with two-year-olds, it is essential that routines do not demand long periods of being seated but do support the development of children’s attention and focus. For us, at Ellie's Nurseries, ‘thriving’ means growing, flourishing and reaching one’s own potential for development and overall well-being. We know that every child is unique and comes to us with their own rich and diverse experiences. Our joy is found in nurturing our physical and emotional environments to meet children and their families where they are, celebrating strengths and supporting areas of need. We are committed to helping your little one’s thrive.
Our educators work closely with local schools to ensure a seamless transition and many of our activities at this stage revolve around ‘transition preparation’. At this age, educators allow children the space to invent ways of independently taking on tasks and preparing for their day. Carefully planned days focus on different areas of interest for your child to investigate and provide opportunities to develop skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths (STEAM). Bespoke experiences support communication, social, and physical abilities to equip your child for the next phase of life and learning. Our Preschool rooms offer real-life resources that encourage your child to solve problems and develop complex role-play skills. Educators are tuned in with your child’s development, identifying their strengths and working with them on areas to improve, ensuring a seamless transition to school.
Unlocking Learning Through Sensory Exploration Our Sensory Rooms provides a stimulating environment where children can investigate, explore, and absorb information through curiosity-led play. By engaging in open-ended discovery, children develop essential skills such as independence, concentration, fine motor skills, and imagination, while also building a foundation for early mathematical concepts. Sensory play enhances cognitive development, supports emotional regulation, and encourages a deeper connection to the world around them, making it a powerful tool in their learning journey.
